Too Calm To Blog

It’s a long way to the top if you want to write a blog.

That’s why I try to write every day.  When inspiration doesn’t strike, I look at the news.

The news is beautiful because there is something in there for everyone.  If you like reports of car crashes, there is a brand new mangled wreck to look at every day.  If you want to know which expensive hand cream made of baby foreskins Oprah is endorsing today, click on the “Health and Beauty” section of your favourite news source.  Don’t forget sports.  The Raptors and the Blue Jays lost last night, by the way.  Thanks a lot, God.

The news is of great benefit if you write a blog that is about slapping the cellphone out of people’s hands and holding them down while you force them to put their thinking cap on.  So I look there for inspiration some days.

Something very unusual happened today.  Nothing in the funny papers was triggering me.  There was lots of potentially alarming news but I was too desensitized to it all.

I wasn’t even bothered by the entertainment piece about the recent episode of The Simpsons, titled “D’Oh Canada”.  In fact, I took the time to watch the episode and it was hilarious.

Go check it out.  It’s only twenty minutes long.  It’ll be a better use of your time than reading Not Sheep Minded.

Because even after two coffees, I’m too calm to blog.

  1. The news is fantastic. Always something to pick apart or attempt to counter with common-sense reasoning. Every time you believe to have seen it all and heard every insane thing possible, they go and one-up the last batch of bonkers “news”. Incredible.
