Pardon Me (A Poem)

Backs need scratching

Pardon me

Fat cats laughing

Pardon me

Of all the men who rot in jail

Appeals exhausted, challenges failed

The ones who need a helping hand

The ones whose crimes are victimless

Of all the men he could have chose

To have their cases finally closed

He did what any rich man does

He freed his buddy just because

Thieves are thick

They wag their dicks

Absolute power

Makes them sick

To the guy serving twenty for having weed

Your pardon will have to wait, you see

There’re friends locked up for corporate acts

And from behind bars they can’t scratch backs

Angels on high can set them free

I’ll pardon you

If you pardon me
