Scotiabank Arena Miracle Part Deux

In 1993 we watched Joe Carter hit the walk off home run to beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. We watched it here. At the cottage.

In those days the signal came from the “TV Tower” a mile from here. The TV Tower was taken down and cut up for scrap when television was no longer broadcast in analog.

Unlike in ’93 when we watched the Blue Jays on CTV Kitchener (for free), this year we had to use the cellular networks. And this game six showcased the Raptors, not the Jays.

So I succumbed to the serial wireless rapists and bought an $80 data plan to give me ten gigabytes.

It was worth every penny. The Raptors took game six and move onto the NBA finals for the first time in Toronto Raptors history.

Praise God. He made this miracle happen. At least that’s what Raptor Patrick McCaw believes. He said so in a tweet:

SAY WHAT YOU WANT 3 STRAIGHT NBA FINALS APPEARANCES?! I CAN’T MAKE THIS UP … MY FAITH GOT ME HERE, NOTHING BUT GOD!!! ZERO WORRIES ZERO DOUBTS

So there you have it, folks. With Charles Barkley and God on our side the Raptors might just go all the way.

We just have to have faith!
