Disturbing the Peace

The waves. The birds in the trees. Gravel crunching as a car drives on the road. Pleasant sounds. Country sounds.

Oh, wait, what’s this? Ungrateful kids begin to whine. Domestic issues start disputes. The dog barks in unison with the barks of the married people. Now the whole peninsula can hear the airing of grievances.

The dilapidated tree house no longer stands else I would make my escape. Instead, I’ll sit on the railroad tie bench. Hopefully, I don’t get creosote on my shorts.

A caesar and a game of horseshoes will straighten this day out.
