Fear is defined as:
an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger
I utilized a supercomputer (courtesy of IBM) to analyze all of my blog posts for their tone (aka mood). The long version of the story is here.
Each post was given a value between 0 and 1 in the following categories: Anger, Fear, Joy, Sadness, Analytical, Confident, and Tentative.
Today’s emotion is Fear. You can choose next week’s emotion by voting in the comments.
Without further ado, here are Not Sheep Minded‘s top 10 most Fearful posts, according to a machine that does not experience emotions (that we know of):
Post | Fear % |
Parabellums (A Poem) | 0.751527 |
Addicts Among Us | 0.700673 |
Sticks and Stones | 0.693632 |
Visions of Sugarplums (Dancing in my Head) | 0.688605 |
Mandela Effect #2 | 0.674417 |
Scotiabank Arena Miracle Part Deux | 0.657405 |
Where ya been, Sheep? | 0.657015 |
One Way Ticket to Hell | 0.641307 |
Am I a Writer? | 0.637259 |
Resurrection of a Sheep | 0.635295 |
Hmmm.
Makes me wonder what emotion my posts would engender…. ridicule?

Ha ha. The Watson tone analyzer has a spot where you can place a small sample of text if you want to try it.

I just ran my latest posts from 3 different categories (HW, CW, and NROP). They all seem to score high for analytical. I like that. It aligns with my goals for my blog. Also, it seems like I don’t really have strong inhibitions (tentative).

Cool. I’m an analytical type too. Have you ever taken the Meyers Briggs personality test?

Yes. However, the results changed slightly over the years. I don’t remember the latest.

I’m a cross between joyous, tentative, and analytical. More analytical though

Just don’t “double-dog dare.”
I shudder to think of the outcome of that one.

Those kind of dares can get serious.

I haven’t tried it but I’m willing. One thing about writing and religion, the best intension may show yourself peddling the same type of crap you despise. Great post.

Not even 1%? It seems like you’re fearless.
I wonder if the word “beware” in “Parabellum” was the one that swayed it towards “fear”.

I realized the test runs between 0 and 1, not 1 and 100% so I rewrote the posts to reflect the correct information.
So anything close to 1 is high.

That makes more sense.

I wonder what keywords give the highest rating? Do you have to have the word fear in the writing to get a scared score? Amazing data.

I wonder too. The number one post had the word “Beware” in it. If that isn’t a fear word, I don’t know what is.
